Day 28
So today I didn't wake up so late, 10! :) First thing I did was leave all the photos in order on the computer, arranging the names and stuff. Still got a few more to put in but we don't have cd's here so Amy will post me a CD soon! Then I shaved - took me around 20 minutes to complete the task - packed and then we went to hit the streets of Edmonton for the last time. First we went to Mass in the Basilica of St Joseph (we went yesterday too but forgot to mention it), then Amy had to go have her hair but so Jimmy and I strolled through the streets and checked out the shops. Then Amy was done and we went to another mall! Bought some last things and that was it. Now we just got home and I packed the new additions. Tonight we should be going out for supper and then at 8.30pm I'm meant to be at the airport. 10.30pm I should fly, unless there's a delay. That's 6.30am your time so you'll be reading this tomorrow now. I'm meant to land in London at around 1pm Eng time then get my last plane to bring me home at 11pm. Lottsa time at the airport but I'd much rather wait on my accord than have to wait cos of a delay or someone screws up at the airport like what happened to Sarah! No chances there so! I'm almost hoping that I would be delayed by just a couple of hours so I wait less at the airport! Soon back home guys, I've missed you all. I land at 3am so if anyone still at Mc Donald's till the very end and you wanna surprise me at the airport - if you have the energy that is - I'd give y'all a hug! Love to all! xxx
Day 27
So today we went to West Edmonton Mall - the biggest Mall in the world and we just went around the shops. Obviously I didn't manage all of them for 2 reasons. 1. there are too many, 2. I didn't bother with the shops with women's clothes, accessories, make up, hair stuff, shoes, bags...the never ending list which will save the worlds economy had the reserviours of underground oil had to dry out! :) Didn't buy much though. Just a few things which I thought were a good deal. Now I hope I'm not too overweight and all those good deals will go down the drain with overweight charges. Or maybe I'll just give the check-in girl a nice shiny smile with a twinkle in my eye. Maybe she'll let me pass! :) Hon I still love you but ok =) Then went back home and had supper. By the way, woke up at 11 again today! :) Watched a coupla films again and eventually went to bed! Tomorrow last day!

Day 26
So today as you can guess I woke up at 11 and had something to eat. Then after that we all went to town as these 3 weeks there is a Fringe Theatre they call it. You get these people from all over the world and they set up shows and acts all over the place - street theatre insomma! It was quite entertaining and different at the same time. I got to eat an elephant ear too! Well at least that's what they're called. They're not ears, they're just flat doghnut pastry - obviously deep fried! I think it would be good to introduce in Malta, I think its a cool idea. Anyway, later on the weather started to chill a bit and we were tired of walking all over the place and some shows started to get boring so we just left and went back. Back at home we just watched another coupla' films but the girls went to watch a chick-flick-film - Becoming Jane. I had the sense not to go! Counting down now cos on Thursday I fly back. Its funny how I arrive on Saturday though! So now I can say SEE YOU SOON GUYS! Pupa if you haven't bought be enough presents from England I'll grab another plane and go away again ok! :) Nah! Love You ;) xxx
Day 25
So this morning being Sunday we went to mass. Then we went back home and ate lunch and then I started clearing up and packing my clothes. Then I laughed my head off reading the funny sections on readers digest. The best one of all was this:
- A woman in her 9th month of pregnancy was complainig that her pleas for sympathy were going unnoticed by her husband. At one point int time she tells him "In your next life I hope that you get pregnant!" To which he promptly answered "In YOUR next life I hope that you'll be married to someone who IS pregnant!!!" -
Oh I layghed hysterically at that! Anyway, when I could properly stand up cos I laughed enough to get cramps, we said ouor goodbyes and left to Edmonton! We got here in exactly 2hrs and settled in to sleep. On the way here we passed the airport which gave me mixed feelings cos I'm ready to come back home now but I'm having a real lot of fun and I'm waking up at 11am everday! :D

Day 24
So today I got to do some handywork which was fun. First we went to this mega big DIY store called Home Depot and bought a truckload of stuff. Then we came home and started working on the floor. Cos M'Anne is renovating you see! Then we showered and went off to the cinema in Red Deer and we watched The Bourne Ultimatum! Rating from 1-5 star? 5! It was amazing! My style of film but it concluded so many mysteries from the other 2 films! I feel better that I've watched it. I found 2 mistakes though! :( Unfortunately I find myself without wanting to analyzing all shots and I feel like a wet blanket and I really don't like that. I feel like I'm one of those stupid critics who just have anything to say about anything. But these 2 mistakes were not in the filming from one take to another, they're more mistakes in the mechanics of the film so to say. Actually the filming was reallt good, and they paid special attention to chainging shots when opening doors! It was really really good. Yes I suggest you watch it too! :) Off to bed now. Goodnight! :)
Day 23
So today we woke up and had breakfast as usual and in the early afternoon we just lazed about. But then we went to this lake called Gull Lake - it was massive! Then we had smoky's for dinner or supper - i don't know which of the two. Smoky's are just very big sausages! And Jimmy called them by-pass sausages! Cos if you have too many of them you'll end up needing by-pass surgery! Then we got back home and we played this letter-card game called Quibbles - really cool game. That and a lot of drinks made the time fly by! :) Miss you guys a lot now. And you Scoqqish guys - I miss you too! Famous MC please send a special hug to Chris for me! :) :) hahahahahahaha

Day 22
So today I woke up late and had brunch not brerakfast becuase yesterday was a very late night and the mountain air got to me too. It tired me out - not used to living so high up! But anyway, we then went to a park nearby - 5 minutes walking distance and played in the water park. It was really cool. We were Amy's mum - M'Anne who took the role of the photographer - 5 of her grandchildren and myself! One of the kids was a boy - Stevn coincidentally! So we teamed up against the girls an dgave them quite a drenching. They fought back initially but they surrendered very ealry into the battle. Then we just went for a walk, took 2 of the kids home in Innisfail and drove the other 3 to their home in Red Deer. On the way back we went shopping to this mega big warehouse were we bought somethings and then met Amy and Jimmy - her boyfriend - back at home. Dinner was BBQ'd steak - Candian Beef! It tasted amazing! I never tated such a good steak in my life! Anyway then we played a board game and chatted till around midnight and went off to bed! Very relaxing and fun too! Today mark's my half way here in Canada too cos today week I start my journey back home. So see yousoon guys. Miss you all.

Day 21
Well today was another blast in this holiday. We woke up and Amy told me that it was time to go so what do I do, I sleep again! Hehe! Well I eventually fell outta bed considering I slept on the top bunk and we rushed out of the hostel. We then went to a grocer and bought a bagel and a pastry for breakfast and then then went to find the Kicking Horse River as right next to it there was the Glacier Rafting Company. Well we were quite early and so we just lazed about in the nice warm early morning sun. Then went back and started meeting the other people coming rafting too. Well we checked in and paid the full amount and then the guide explained to us a coupla things. Then we went and wore ourt wetsuits which didn't really do that much to keep us warm I should say, but I only learnt this eventually. We wore fleece sweaters and a splash jacket too so we get wet as little as possible. This is because, as they explained, the river was only 3*C as onlyu 15 hours earlier that water was ice! Anyway, we got a ride to the top of the river in one of those huge yellow school buses that we see only on tv and eventually got to the place. We then went on our first ride which kinda gives you a basic idea of rafting as a group and obeying commands of the guide and also a slight taster of what's coming in the next ride. So then we stopped for lunch - a big one two as they made us BBQ steaks annd a whole lot more. By now I learnt how really cold the water was! But it was lovely at the same time. Then we went on the second part of the trip and that was totally out of this world - proper rapid rafting at its best! Waves and holes and currents and rocks and wood dams ... the lots! Anyway, as they say all good things come to an end so the trip was over and we changed into our nice dry clothes and headed back to Innisfail! But we stopped over in Calgary and by the time we got home it was 2 am! So tomorrow sleepin'in!
Day 20
So today we left from Becky in Calgary and went to a town in the mountains called Canmore. We went round the shops for some time then we went to Radium were there were the Hot Water Springs. Well they're all developed and it look slike a big pool but its about 40*C. Real hot! Its almost too hot when you're going in but feels better in a second once in. And it is so relaxing at the same time. But we hiked a bit to get there cos we went to town at the bottom of the mountain and then we walked up to the springs. Then we ate after we were ready and had a delicious ice cream on the walk down. We got to the car and thenm drove off to Golden where we simply took a room in a hostel we were booked in. We paid and never saw the guy again. We could do what the hell we wanted, but luckily we got a room with bunks to ourselves cos the other guys were men and then looked kinda junkies and I wasn't really happy about the idea that I was gonna sleep in the same room with them - I thought I was gonna end up with a kidney missing or worse! I watched scary movie on TV and the other junkies joined me and we laughed a real lot but I still didn't wanna sleep in their room. We had a mouse somewhere running about our room too so Amy had company cos I didn't hear a thing that night but she kept waking up - also cos right outside our door was the common/living area and the guys put on a video at 3am - apparently! I slept like a baby! :) But on the way the mountains were beautiful - they got quite a funny name too - the Rockies, so I guess they're made out of rock, am I right?! :)
Day 19
So today we left early for Calgary to Amy's sister - Becky. When we got there we went off to Heritage Park. Its a tiny town out of a western movie. Well actually its a tiny town built to show some history of how people used to live in the olden times. It was really nice and very very charming in a sense as the houses and the furniture and "home appliances" were all old and original. There was a train to that we went for a ride on and then we walked about everywhere really. Thelacksmith's the backer's were we boughtbutter cakes from, the restaurant - were we had lunch - the printing press, different houses, the lots! We went to the schools too and you see a stove in the middle to warm the room and then tiny desks and benches with small blackboards for the kids to write on - astma at its best I suppose! Then we wentback home eventually and Pam, Amy's other sister joined us and her boyfriend Matt - Matthew! We got Pizza take away
Day 18
So today we had a very relaxed day but I got the title of chef as I cooked rabbit! My first one ever! So it could have been either a total flop or a total success. Thank God it turned out good! [sigh of relief] :) Before that we went to mass and and then went to get a movie - An Inconvenient Truth and we watched that as soon as we came home. Its a documentary really about global warming but very interesting. Then we ate the rabit with rice and corn on the cob and then we had strawberry and rhubarb pie for desert - delicious - and then we watched The Las tKing of Scotland - cool film too. So that was our day today really. Not much to write about except for relax relax relax relax relax! :) Big hug to everybody!

Day 17
Today was a very fun day indeed. We woke up later than yesterday so that's already a bonus and then we went off to the rodeo! It was so cool! And dangerous too - bhut I was a safe distance away on the bleachers andjust watching. It was dangerous for the people competing! :) I was perfectly safe filming most of the show. There were bare back riding and saddle riding on the horses, then there were other competitions were they run out after a steer - for those of you that don't know whatthat is its the equivalent of the maltese "hasi"! Anyway they run after him on horseback obviously and they gotta lasso the thing and hold it and then jump off the horse and tie his legs and he has to stay there for some time for their time to be valid. That was quite cool. Then there were the races in chariots and in carts and one guys horses hit the other guy's cart and he got toppled over to the side thank God and no one was behind him but he still hurt his back quite bad. Funny thing was they couldn't stop the runaway horses. There were stunt motorcyclists too - exceptionally cool to see them live instead of on tv. So that was a whole day thing really and even though you just weatch you still get knackered - or else jet lag catching up with me. But I'm not really suffering from it, I think at least! Love to all

Day 16
So today we woke up and left soon after breakfast. It rained today but the weather should become sunny soon. We first went to Tyrren Natural Museum and there were these dinosaur fossils and stuff like that as here, in Alberta county many fossils were found. One particular dinosaur wa discovered here too - hence the name Albertosaurus! No I made that one up - but I wouldn't be too surprised if it were true! Anyway, then we went to see the Hoodoos which are colums of ground which are left after the surrounding earth has eroded away. these form becuase they would have a strong peice of rock on top that would protect the top from eroding so these columns remain. Then we went over a modern rope bridge made of steel which miners used to get to the other side of the river before the 2nd world war as there were - and still are but just not used - various coal mines in the area. Then we drove home and the drive was beautiful. The highways are single lane roads on each side but they are the straightest road which strecth out as far as you can see. Its beautiful. Well eventually we got home and settled in, had dinner and now I'm once again off to bed cos tomorrow we're up early again. Amy woke me up at 7am today! So I need to catch up on my beauty sleep! Love to all!
Day 15 - half way!
So today was almost a total waiting day one could say. We woke up at 5am and drove a 4hr drive between Famous MC and myself in 2.30hrs! Cool huh! :) hehe Then we checked in Steven and went to Burger King cos we were starving. Then Steven waved us goodbye and had to go! :( I'm gonna miss being with him now! Then we stayed on a bit and I checked in myself. Then Famous MC said goodbye and I started wandering as slowly as poosible all the shops in the airport. And then I started reading the book my darling had given me and then I slept and woke up and slept again and woke up again and slept again but then I got fed up so I didn't sleep any more. I had so much time to sleep because my plane was delayed till 6pm which evenually delayed till 6.30 pm but never took off before 7pm - all UK time obviously. The thing was that Steven flew at 11am so I had a lotta time on my hands. Becuase of the delay they gave me a coupon to buy food so I went back to Burger King but had chicken this time. Eventually the plane took off - which was really cool by the way. Thank God I got a brilliant seat. It was in the middle aisle fourth row and i had an aisle seat. I got out my Air France headphones cos I don't travel without those so I didn't need to buy headphones on the plane and the films started almost immediately. The first one was Shrek 3 and I laughed hard enough to wake up the people next to me! Hehe. Then there was a really really good film called Freedom Writers, then Shooter which I had already watched so I rested a bit more. So today was a day were I suffered many mixed feeling swings. I was sad cos I had to say bye to all the Scots and to my beloved Scotland but at the same time very happy to say hello to Canada and Amy! Anyway the plane landed 8hrs and 18minutes after it took off - quite a long trip but it was over at the end. Amy was there to greet me at the airport and took me to her sister's house - Becky were I had this lovely double warm bed waiting for me to crash out cos by the time I got to bed here I realised that I had been up for more than 24hrs and I was knackered!

Day 14
Today marks the half line of my holiday and the end for Steven's unfortunately but once again we had a very full day! This morning we went out and we were sticking little signposts in different areas as on Saturday there is going to be a warehouse sale in aid of the Church so we went about doing that! Then we staying playing about a bit and fooling around with our guns which I mentioned to you last time. Then we went horse riding but I only got a picture of my brother as Steven forgot to take a pic of me so you'll have to see me on video eventually! in the meantime I knew that I could not find my mobile and I thought that I had left it in the room so after horse riding I went to look for it there but I couldn't find it and I looked all o'er the house but still dinnae find it! I thought I had lost it when we were sticking the wee signposts in the morning so we went round again to see if we found anything in the grass around thembut nothing. We stopped at the police station to see if we were lucky with that but nothing either. Then I was frantically looking for it at home when Steven remembered that when we were playing with the guns in the field I had slipped so Chris and him went to look for it there and thank God they did and I was so happy. Then ma'babby phoned and then la'er we spoke to mum, dad, anabelle, caroline and my aunt and uncle who's birthday it was and so we wished him a great day and party. Happy Birthday again Uncle Joe! Then just before we went to bed Super Sarah and Famous MC gave me a new hair do! They straightened my hair! I was horrified at first but I think I'm kinda getting used to it. We'll see how much it lasts before my curlz come back out! Tomorrow we fly!!! Bye Finn's you gave us a beautiful holiday and we'll miss you so very very much! Bye Steven, it was lovely spending yet another holiday with you! :) I'll miss you too :( And all you guys at home, and Sarah in England tomorrow, I miss you all as well! xxx
Day 13
Today we had an appointment - or an activity so to say. And this was quite fun too - lunch in Inverness at Jimmy Chung's! Its a Chinese restaurant with very very very good food, an extensive buffet but most importantly - an all you can eat for £4.99!!! Now on the way there I was telling Chris that we had been there before and how much we ate, or pigged out more like it! And I said that the fact that you can eat how much you want is such a cool concept. But he said its all you can eat not eat what you want! that means that even if you're fed up of eating you can still continue to do so till you fill all your system with food - even up till your throat! So that was quite fulfilling - excuse the pun! Then we spent the rest of the afternoon lazing about cos we had too much food to carry around and that wound have been quite an effort! Tomorrow we pack; unfortunately cos we've been having a lovely time here with the Finn's! And Steven will be coming back home too but the show must go on and I'll go continue it in Canada with Amy & Co. :) See you soon Amy! :)

Day 12
So this morning at 3.30am we arrived back home. We left yesterday from Alton Towers at 8pm and Sarah started driving for a bit. Then when we got to the border we stopped to filler up and then I took the wheel from then on. Everyone was really exhausted but it was a nice cosy drive. Met the rain on the way but I still kept going at a 100MPH!!!! Bugger the speed limit! Then we got to Glasgow and Marie Claire drove cos she knew the roads better and we dropped Mark off. Then Marie Claire kept going till she got tired and in the meantime I slept for 30 minutes. Everyone was asleep by then - even superman! They slept most of the way but I wanted to stay awake just in case the driver felt groggy! It was a very long ride and everyone was exhausted so I made an effort to stay up with whoever was driving! Then I drove the rest of the way till we dropped Emma off in Inverness and then Marie Claire did the last 30 minutes cos I was almost dead. Then today I woke up at 1.30pm! And only cos Steven got up! :)
Day 11
Day 10
Sorry for updating late but I obviously wasn't here to do so before as we were travelling and I don't have the iphone yet as it is not available in Europe yet cos otherwise I would have updated cos its the bestest phone ever! :) I can't wait to get my hands on it. But back to the topic! So today we left at around 3.30 pm and drove to Inverness were we picked Super Sarah :) and Chris Finn from work. Then we went to mass and started off for Alton Towers smack in the middle of the UK in Staffordshire! It was a very very very long drive - stopping occasionally to fill up petrol and to stretch our legs and then drive off. We started with some fun though! We were meant to sleep over at a Travelodge and they phoned us telling us that they were over-booked and that they had booked us in at this Quality Hotel . So we went to the hotel and we found out that we were never booked in there so we had to go back to Travelodge and never found the damn place. Well eventually we got there and got our rooms. Our room - the boys' - smelt of a chippie! But we were too tired as it took us a 7 hour drive to get there and so we just fell asleep. Sarah drove the 1st 4 hours and the rest Marie Claire! Tiring, very tiring!
Friday, 3 August 2007
Day 9
So as I told you yesterday, today was gonna be a good one! The thing is because today we went paintballing! And it was such a ball! We loved it! Once again you can imagine how we got covered in mud cos it was raging war! Honest! It was running all over the place and jumping into the mud for quick cover and behind trees and obstacles and stuff! Steven and I were with the black team against the reds! The first battle was to run behind obstacles and eventually get to an orange cone and drag it back with you to your side. We lost the first round and drawed the second. Then it was capture the fort where we had to defend a metal box with top secret documents in it and we won that cos they dinnae get to it in time. When we attacked the fort then we beat them hollow! Then the last battle was king of the hill were both teams had to go up this hill and wave the flag for 10 straight seconds. They never got to touch the flag and we managed on the 3rd time. The difficult thing in these was that if you get hit with the paint then you're out. So we were jumping in the mud even more to hide the stains! But they can really sting! Depends were you were hit obviously. We had protective visors cos the balls shoot out at 200mph so you can imagine! I got hit in the neck though and that was quite a sting! The best part was that for the first round Steven and I were together but we didn't really have much of a clue of how to go about it and I died quite early, though I got the cone to our team! But the best was the last because it was if you get hit you just walk back to the start and go in again. The problem for everyone else was that by the time we got to the fort battle and we were attacking Steven and I were a very strong team with the advantage on nobody being able to understand anything we shouted to each other between us! So for the remainder of the battles we took out our flanks just the two of us on our own with hardly any problems! Was a fun day but I'll make sure I go to a lot of training before I'm ever called to go to war cos you realise how really difficult it is! Tomorrow should be a relaxed day but in the afternoon we hear mass then drive down to England to a place called Alton Towers! I'm sure you can google it and see wot its all about! Love to all. xxx PS No pics today - didn't dare take a camera with us!

Day 8
Today was goodbye Anton day! :( Today he had to go back to Malta. But we had a lovely time with him too and looking forward to meeting him again in our mother country! Today also marks the half way spot for Steven and the quarter spot for me in our holidays! Today we can say that we spent a day in the car cos it was a long drive from Edinburgh to Glasgow. Then we went round Glasgow city for a couple of hours cos we waited for Mark Wigi - wigi cos he's Glaswegian! He came back with us to Stratherrick so now we got 2 Mark's! Back in Glasgow we bought a coupla nice toys! I bought a jablo plane which flies with a remote - really cool - we got 8 play station games for £30! And last but surely not least we bought 2 laser guns with breast plates and when you get hit with the laser on the breast plate - well something really cool happens. Details are self explanatory once you get shot yourselves! So since we spent most of the day in the car I've not much more to say except to remind you to check out the blog tomorrow! Tomorrow is gonna be great! Love to all!
Day 7
Hi guys. So today is the day when I confess my sins. Steven and Anton, this morning, left with Marie Claire for a day in Edinburgh. They left early and so I remained asleep. However I did join them in the evening after riding a coach from Inverness. So one would pose the question of why I dinnae go with them in the first place! Well its because I had to go to Inverness Hospital ... again! :) I had an appointment at 2 o'clock there you see as I had been there before on the first night I was here! This is because there was a bigga piece o'wood which I kicked to break and the problem was that it did! The thing is that when it did, being a long piece, it did break but it also bounced slamming like a hammer in my face! That stunned me for a moment until I felt blood trickle down my chin and then noted that even more was accumulating in my mouth and felt something weird in the side of my mouth! That is when I noticed that I had a hole in my face! Went to hospital and found that the hole was considerably small compared to the pain I was in but I was more worried about the pain coming from my teeth! I thought I had broken something but thank God I had only thorn my gums! Well so today I had to go to hospital and get the 6 stitches from the outside removed - the rest, which make up to 18 in all (including the exterior 6), dissolve after a total of 10 days! So that's all. In the evening we went out in Edinburgh to this disco and then we went back to Thomas - Marie Claire's eldest brother and slept at his place! So if in the previous pics anyone noticed anything next to my lip that's just a bit of a bruise!
Day 6
So today after yesterday's great afternoon in da mud we woke up late in the morning and headed to Fort Augustus. After buying a ticket for a cruise on Loch Ness we went to eat at a chippie - yet another one - and I had haggis - simply delicious! Then went on the cruise and then headed safely back home. In the evening though we went out to Whitebridge for dinner and ate pizza which was quite good and then a few drinks :) :) :) But otherwise it was a very relaxed day all throughout! Tomorrow will be interesting folks! :) Catch ya la'er!
